Research, as we understand it, is the process of uncovering and understanding those solutions and bringing them to light in a practical way.The R&D centre is recognized by Department of Science and Technology, Government Of India.AJMAL R & D center, established in 1994, is based in Hojai, Assam, with a total area of 3.5 hectares. Broadly, the objective of this center is the commercial exploitation of medicinal and aromatic plants in the North East, particularly Assam. The R & D center provides modern testing facilities for agro extracts and essential oils and also to devise new and more efficient processes for producing value added derivatives, essential oils and herbal products from medicinal and aromatic plants. It also helps the scientific and organized cultivation of these plants. At a social level, the center assists farmers in improving output through scientific and modern cultivation methods and also provides them with alternative and off season crops.Nursery, Germplasm Collection and Maintenance.Research Farms for carrying out Field Trials of select medicinal and aromatic plants. Agro-meteorological observatory with a rain gauge and Stevens Ion Screen.
